During the second annual SS. Cosma and Damiano Literary Competition, held at the Sanctuary of the Holy Martyrs, journalist and writer Maria Cuono received a double award for her literary and journalistic contributions. The event, organized by dentroSalerno.it and hosted by Editor-in-Chief Rita Occidente Lupo, was attended by local officials, including Mayor Mario Conte and prominent figures such as the Honorable Guido Milanese.

Maria Cuono has been awarded two prestigious prizes: the Lifetime Achievement Award for the Art of Encounter and the Honorary Award for the book “Tutto con il cuore.” “The Art of Encounter. Interviews with Entertainment Personalities” is a work published by L'Argolibro Editore in 2020, born during the pandemic, which collects interviews with well-known entertainment personalities such as Alessandro Haber, Simona Marchini, Nino D'Angelo and Rocco Papaleo. This book stands out for Maria Cuono's ability to go “beyond the character”, revealing the human side of the artists.

The second award-winning book, “Tutto con il cuore,” is the new version of “Verso l'Orizzonte,” published by Kimerik and dedicated to three women in the entertainment industry: Lorella Cuccarini, Monica Sarnelli, and Carmen Giardina. With a preface by soprano Olga De Maio, this work represents a significant tribute to the artistic careers of these figures.
Career of Maria Cuono
Maria Cuono has a varied and in-depth education. She graduated in Pedagogy in 1996 and attended a specialization course in “Anthropology and Psychoanalysis of Text and Scene” at the University of Salerno. She acquired skills in the audiovisual sector through a course of the Campania Region. Since 2003 she has collaborated with various newspapers and online portals, including Il Salernitano, Cronache del Mezzogiorno, and Teatro.org, where she writes about Italian theater and entertainment.
Collaborations and Projects
Over the years, Maria Cuono has collaborated with numerous radio stations and has served as a judge at various festivals. She founded Radio Giustizia in November 2010 and currently runs the Web Agency Maria Cuono Communication. Among her recent projects, the promotion of events such as “Io, Fabrizio e il Ciocorì” and the “Ascoltami” tour by Manuela Villa.
Publications
Maria Cuono has several successful publications to her credit. Her first book, “Verso l'orizzonte,” published in 2013, is a collection of poems dedicated to Lorella Cuccarini. In 2020, she published “L'Arte dell'incontro” as a tribute to artists during the pandemic. Her next book, “Tutto con il cuore,” will be published in January 2024.
