Casandrino. Over 120 cubic meters of automotive waste was stored in a 300-square-meter private area.
This is what was discovered during joint checks carried out by the Metropolitan Police and the Army - Operation Safe Streets, with the support of the Carabinieri, on the outskirts of Casandrino.
Also present were many vehicles of dubious origin, such as scooters and high-powered cars. A camper loaded with car parts and materials was found inside the area. The vehicle had an altered license plate and, after investigation, it was found stolen in Rome during the August bank holiday from two French tourists.
Checks are underway to ascertain the possible stolen origin of the other material found. Two people have been reported, also for receiving stolen goods, with consequent seizure and request for characterization of the land.
The operation – in implementation of the strategy to combat the Terra dei Fuochi phenomena ordered by the Prefect of NAPLES, Michele di Bari – is the first result of a larger action day still underway between Casandrino, Cardito and Crispano.
