Today the Ministry of Health issued 22 recall notices for bagged salads due to the risk of bacterial contamination from Listeria Monocytogenes. Numerous batches of iceberg lettuce, belonging to 19 different brands, have been recalled from supermarkets. Consumers are being urged to return the product to the point of sale where it was purchased.

The affected products were distributed in various supermarkets and produced by the company Ortoromi Agricultural Cooperative Society, in the establishment of Beautiful (Salerno). The brands involved include Leaf Green Eurospin, Alifresh, Central Milk, Ciro Amodio, Selex, and many others.

The recall was necessary due to a microbiological risk associated with the presence of the bacterium Listeria Monocytogenes, responsible for listeriosis, an illness that can manifest itself as gastroenteritis a few hours after ingesting contaminated food. In more serious cases, it can lead to complications such as meningitis, encephalitis and septicemia. For more information, including specific batch numbers, you can consult the Ministry of Health website in the section dedicated to food recalls.
