San Gennaro is more revered in New York than in Naples. In fact, tomorrow, in Little Italy, the 98th edition of the celebrations begins, which will last for 11 days, until September 22.

The cult of San Gennaro is considered so significant that the celebration in his honor has been held every year since 1926, almost a century, and lasts almost two weeks, not just on September 19.

In Vomero, to organize a procession in honor of the Patron Saint, which lasts about two hours, numerous disputes are being faced with the owners of the gazebos and tables that have invaded the streets.

Some even suggest changing the traditional route of the procession, while the competent authorities have not yet issued the necessary provisions, including those regarding traffic, to allow the Vomero event to take place, in which many faithful participate every year.

This is the bitter observation of Gennaro Capodanno, president of the Comitato Valori Collinari, former president of the Vomero District, who urges, once again, the necessary measures to guarantee the safe conduct of the solemn procession.
