“I don’t understand how anyone can ask for my resignation, I have done nothing wrong, neither from a legal nor an institutional point of view”.

These are the words of Culture Minister Gennaro Sangiuliano , reported this morning by La Stampa, regarding the Boccia case. Sangiuliano states that during the trips between June, July, and August, "I paid for everything with my personal credit card.

I am making public all the documents, receipts and bank statements relating to the places we visited together, from Taormina to Polignano, from Sanremo to Milan”.

Only in Riva Ligure did "the mayor insist on paying himself, and we were his guests." In other cases, he explains, the hotel expenses were covered by the companies organizing the various literary festivals to which the minister was invited.

The reservations, he specifies, "were not managed by the ministry secretariat, but I made them directly from my computer or iPad."

Regarding the use of the official car, "which is a vehicle under the control of the Carabinieri that I must use for safety reasons for all trips, she has always been in it with me, never alone, and only for short trips, maybe to the station."

"What do you think Salvini was doing with Isoardi? And then with Verdini, even before making their relationship official? And Franceschini with De Biase, before she became his wife?" Sangiuliano continues. A comparison that, according to La Stampa, seems to acknowledge a private relationship between him and Maria Rosaria Boccia.

“That’s why we blocked her appointment as advisor for major events. She had the resume and the skills needed for that role, but when our professional esteem became a personal issue, I thought it was right to stop everything. I should be applauded for that.”

He also rules out Boccia having access to sensitive material related to the security of the G7: “The information he published on social media was already available in newspapers and was not confidential.

The management of security, after all, is not the responsibility of the Ministry of Culture, but of the Ministry of the Interior and, in this case, of the Prefecture of Naples".

In the email sent by the director of the Pompeii Archaeological Park, there is "nothing that compromises safety; Zuchtriegel , who did an excellent job, simply misunderstood the situation and was overly cautious; it was not necessary to copy Boccia.

The G7 will be held regularly in Naples and Pompeii and I will participate without embarrassment. If there are questions, I will answer that we are there to talk about culture and that's it."

When asked if anything compromising might appear on Boccia's social media, he replied: "No sensitive documents, no videos, at most a few private photos or a WhatsApp message with little hearts, nothing else."

Addressing Meloni , he declared: "I'm a decent person, I haven't done anything wrong, I haven't broken any rules. I wonder how anyone can ask for my resignation over a story fueled by gossip, while other ministers or members of the government are dealing with far more complex situations than mine." For Sangiuliano, the matter is already settled: "It's all over, there's nothing else to add."
