The Carabinieri in Sant'Agata dei Goti, in the Benevento area, have served a precautionary measure issued by the Sannio investigating judge against a 42-year-old man accused of sexual assault. The victim is his 15-year-old niece.
The complaint that triggered the investigation, leading to the man's house arrest, was filed by the minor's father, the arrested man's brother. The girl was in Sant'Agata dei Goti for a vacation, but was subjected to unwanted groping, caressing, and kissing by her uncle.
After repeatedly expressing her disagreement, the fifteen-year-old sent WhatsApp messages to her mother, pleading for help. These messages, along with the testimonies of her parents and other relatives who found her in tears, were included in the investigation file.
The investigating judge decided on the precautionary measure considering "also the personality of the suspect, characterized by the complete absence of inhibitions on libidinous instincts, despite the family relationship with his niece", as reported in a note from the prosecutor's office.
