Starting this year in Sant'Antonio Abate, the agricultural branch of the 'Vitruvio' of Castellammare will open

Starting this year, Sant'Antonio Abate will have the Professional Agricultural Institute with an adjoining outdoor space for practical laboratory activities in agriculture and floriculture.

The first two classes will start next week with the beginning of the school year. This morning, in fact, at Palazzo Matteotti, the memorandum of understanding between the Metropolitan City of Naples and the Municipality of Sant'Antonio Abate for the activation of a branch office, in the school complex of via Cesano, in the Abatese territory, for the address "Services for agriculture and rural development" of the ISIS 'Vitruvio' of Castellammare di Stabia.

The agreement – ​​which was signed by the Deputy Mayor of the Metropolitan City of Naples, Giuseppe Cirillo, and the Mayor of Sant'Antonio Abate, Ilaria Abagnale – provides for the twenty-year concession on free loan for use of the building on Via Cesano to the Metropolitan Authority and the transfer of ownership of the lot, of approximately 6.600 square meters, adjacent to the institute to allow the Metropolitan City to build a gym for students.

“Today is a beautiful day for Sant'Antonio Abate – said Mayor Abagnale, who is also Councilor delegated to Programming and School Buildings of the Metropolitan City – because we are activating an important educational address for the girls and boys of Sant'Antonio Abate and the neighboring municipalities in a structure of excellence, in which they will also have access to approximately 8.000 square meters of outdoor spaces in which to experiment in the field the notions learned, with the aim of creating a real agricultural company, in which students can grow, produce and even sell. Naturally, following the vocations of the territory in this sector, namely fruit and vegetable and flower production”.

"This is a building that we recently renovated - continued the Mayor - seismic and energy efficient. The outdoor spaces were already used by the students of the 'Vitruvio', who however had to travel from Castellammare three times a week for laboratory activities. From this year, however, the students will have the classrooms and cultivation areas all in a single structure in Sant'Antonio Abate, also optimizing the times for teaching, which will no longer have to suffer slowdowns for transportation from one place to another".

Furthermore, from now on – the Metropolitan Councilor announces – the Metropolitan City and the Municipality will begin, in agreement with the Region, which has already given a favorable opinion, and the school management, to work to activate in the Sant'Antonio complex other addresses already present at the 'Vitruvio' of Castellammare, such as the professional commercial services, the tourist technician, the construction environment and territory technician, or the former surveyor.
