The Cobas have declared a strike for the entire work shift of September 20, 2024.

On that date, workers at the Opera Laboratori Fiorentini company, responsible for ticketing services in the Archaeological Park of Pompeii, will suspend work in protest.

This strike coincides with one of the days of the G7, making the protest particularly significant, especially if the international summit were to be held in Pompeii despite the Boccia-Sangiuliano scandal.

The reasons for this industrial action stem from a still unresolved dispute.

In short, the problems concern safety and health at work, the lack of preventive measures for work-related risks, and the persistent precariousness of personnel, aggravated by the use of contracted work and by a professional classification inferior to the actual responsibilities of the workers.

The union opposes the outsourcing of essential public services in the Pompeii Park, which could cause economic damage to the State, especially considering the huge revenues and European funds received, making this practice unjustified.

Ultimately, the protest aims to obtain the internalization of museum services for the employees of Opera Laboratori Fiorentini, to eliminate unfair salary disparities compared to colleagues with similar roles but with the status of public employees.
