Sant'Antonio Abate has taken a significant step forward in education and the development of its school facilities. Thanks to a memorandum of understanding signed between the Metropolitan City of Naples and the Municipality, the Cesano school will be equipped with a gym and other complementary facilities. The announcement was made by the mayor of Sant'Antonio Abate, Ilaria Abagnale, who signed the agreement together with the deputy mayor of the Metropolitan City, Giuseppe Cirillo.

The heart of the agreement lies in the free loan for use of the building on Via Cesano, which is set to become a branch of the “Vitruvio” Higher Education Institute of Castellammare di Stabia. Next to the school building, on a plot of land measuring approximately 7.000 square meters, new works will be built, including a gym, which will enrich the facilities available to students. But that's not all: the project also includes the creation of a direct cultivation area, where students can learn agricultural techniques and contribute to the greenery of the Abatese territory.

"The agreement – explains the mayor Abagnale – will allow the Metropolitan City of Naples to use the school building, which has been seismically adapted, made energy efficient and free of architectural barriers, free of charge for twenty years. In exchange, important works will be carried out that will benefit our students, offering them modern and functional spaces.”

The Cesano school will host a branch of the prestigious “Vitruvio” Institute, with a wide range of training courses ranging from courses in Agriculture, Agri-food and Agro-industry, to the course in Construction, Environment and Territory. Courses in Tourism and a new course in Services for Agriculture and Rural Development will also be activated, offering students a complete and job market-oriented education, with attention to quality, environmental sustainability and compliance with regulations.

“This protocol – Ilaria Abagnale underlines – represents an important milestone for our community. For years we have been working to offer young people from Abate a quality education, and today, thanks to the collaboration with the Metropolitan City of Naples and the Vitruvio Institute, we can finally give them a modern school, equipped and ready to train the professionals of the future. I thank all the institutions involved, in particular the head teacher Angela Cioffi, who has followed with dedication the entire process for the creation of this new branch. This is a shared success that will open new paths for practical learning and field experience for students of Sant'Antonio Abate. "
