Carabinieri officers from the Cilento and Vallo di Diano National Park Department have carried out the precautionary seizure of an area of approximately 3.300 square meters in Cannalonga, in the province of Salerno, used as a waste disposal site. Investigations revealed that a construction company specializing in excavation and earthmoving failed to comply with the regulations set forth in the Consolidated Environmental Act regarding the management of soil and rock resulting from excavation activities.

The seizure, ordered by the Public Prosecutor's Office of Vallo della Lucania, was carried out following checks conducted by the military, which detected recent activities of movement and removal of material from the site without the necessary authorizations. The irregular management of waste, consisting of earth, rocks and topsoil, occurred without the required laboratory analyses, such as the transfer test, which are essential to guarantee environmental safety.

The company owner has been reported to the judicial authorities for unauthorized waste management. The investigation will continue in collaboration with the Vallo della Lucania Public Prosecutor's Office to monitor any further violations and ensure compliance with environmental regulations in the area.
