The Guardia di Finanza of Avellino has executed two preventive seizure orders against the company Alto Calore Servizi spa, responsible for managing the integrated water service for 126 municipalities in the provinces of Avellino and Benevento, and a company in the province of Avellino. The measures concern the seizure of 376.711,75 euros, a sum at the center of an investigation into alleged irregularities in the management of public funds.
The investigation was triggered by complaints from some employees of theHigh Heat, who discovered that they had been included in lists of participants in training courses funded by the “New Skills Fund”, courses that they had never attended. These training activities, which on paper complied with the requirements of the facilitative legislation, allowed the public body to unduly obtain the expected contribution, as shown by the preliminary investigations.
The fraudulent operation also involves a service company, accused of having fictitiously certified the provision of the training courses under investigation. The Avellino Public Prosecutor's Office has opened proceedings for embezzlement, misappropriation, fraud for obtaining public funds and the issuing of invoices for non-existent operations.
