Folklore, tradition, and culture return to the charming alleys of Taurasi's old town, which wind between Porta Maggiore and Porta Sant'Angelo. The historic "September in the Village – From Door to Door" festival will once again take center stage on September 14 and 15, 2024, for its sixteenth edition.

An Example of Heritage Safeguarding

The “Pro Centro Storico” Committee, in collaboration with the Municipality of Taurasi, organized the event that celebrates local history. The first edition, which dates back to 1983, was conceived by the late mayor of the time, Professor Piero Camuso. Camuso's initiative, one of the precursors of a new model of protection and promotion of the agricultural, artistic and landscape resources of the territory, really opened the doors of the enchanting historic center of Taurasi to thousands of visitors. They had the opportunity to come into direct contact with the typical products of food and wine and local craftsmanship, and with the cultural and historical heritage of the ancient Irpinia peasant tradition.

Food and Wine and Folklore

During the two-day event, the “Sagra del Vino” will be held, accompanied by an aperitif area open from 18.30:20.00 pm and numerous food stands from XNUMX:XNUMX pm. The evenings will be enlivened by performances by prestigious folk groups, which will make the atmosphere even more engaging and authentic.

Events for the Whole Family

Sunday's program includes special attention for the little ones, with the start at 16.00:XNUMX pm of the "Giochi al Borgo", a series of recreational events organized by the cultural association "Taurasium". These games will allow children to approach tradition in a playful and engaging way.

Sensory Paths and Guided Tours

Visitors will also have the opportunity to participate in sensory paths and guided tours, with itineraries that include the castle, the museum and the various city cellars. A unique opportunity to discover the excellence of the territory in all their facets.
