Gino and Salvatore Sorbillo they are two names that represent two generations in comparison: at the center there is pizza, but not only it.

There are also the hands of the pizza artists who gently turn, stretch and season the dough.

From today, the hands of Gino and Salvatore will be united forever in a plaster cast made of sand, glue and marble dust that reminds us that the art of pizza comes from the skilled work of the hands, but also from the passion of a generation of pizza chefs that starts way back in 1935 in Naples, from the Sorbillo house, and arrives to Salvatore, son of Gino who is only eleven years old, but the fire from the passion of his father Gino Sorbillo, a chef renowned throughout the world for his pizza.

“A few months ago I went to the restaurant on Via dei Tribunali in Naples to meet Gino and Salvatore, I found them in the most representative place of the pizzeria, in front of the oven, ready to put the pizza in the oven”, declared Marcella Loffredo, the artist who designed the cast of the father and son's hands.

“As soon as the dough was finished I involved them in the cast – continues Loffredo – I was moved to see them together, father and son. The cast is exhibited in their shop and represents the passion for the work that is passed down from generation to generation.

The craft that comes from the hands is the one that best represents the idea of a Southern Italy that wants to emerge for its tradition and quality. This message could not be left unexpressed. And so, the cast was born”.
