A resident working at the San Giovanni di Dio e Ruggi d'Aragona hospital in Salerno was the victim of a verbal assault by a man, who subsequently punched a door, breaking the glass.
The accident occurred last Saturday, but was only made public today by hospital sources. The man fled immediately after the incident, making his identification impossible.
He was present in the Pediatrics Department with two children, one of whom, about two months old, had probable intestinal problems but had not yet been examined. The hospital's strategic management expressed "deep indignation and firm condemnation" for the incident, expressing solidarity with the residents and all the staff working daily in the healthcare facilities.
The Company, as stated in a note, reiterates its commitment to promoting every initiative aimed at combating acts of violence and invites users and their families to show solidarity with all medical and healthcare personnel, so that each can carry out their work to the best of their ability in the primary interest of patients.
