The Teatro Serra in Naples has unveiled its new program for the 2024/25 season, titled "Teatrisismi." The program includes sixteen performances, including eleven national premieres and a Campania debut, and will begin October 4th at Via Diocleziano 316, in Fuorigrotta. The season will feature a variety of theatrical genres, with a particular focus on current issues such as racism, war, social alienation, and the climate crisis.
The Inaugural Show: “The Anniversary Reloaded”
On Friday, October 4th at 21:00 p.m., the curtain will rise with “L'anniversario reloaded,” a black comedy that explores the difficulties men face in the field of love. Produced by the company 'Le false partenze', the show will feature Gianluca d'Agostino and Agostino Chiummariello. The plot revolves around a man abandoned by his wife who, during a lonely anniversary, is joined by a mysterious individual with whom he will reflect on his past.
National Premieres: Varied Themes
From Friday 20 to Sunday 22 October, “Una passione” by Valentina Diana will open the cycle of eleven national debuts. The show tells the story of an actor who, finding himself alone in front of an audience, decides to recite fragments of the Passion of Christ interspersed with personal confessions. Other important events include “Iside e la Luna fluo”, an esoteric exploration of the female figure from 15 to 17 November, and “Terra”, a critique of the excessive consumption of our era, which will debut on 13 December.
Female Reflections and Musical Tributes
The season will feature a series of shows that focus on women's issues, such as “Mis-Smarco” from December 20 to 22, a story about the life and duties of a woman who decides to 'break away'. In October, the tribute band “The Endless Machine” will also return with the concert “Pink Floyd Experience”, offering an immersion in the visionary atmospheres of the famous rock group.
