Tragedy has struck a hotel in Ischia, where a 60-year-old tourist lost her life after diving into the pool.
The woman, who had arrived on the island for a short vacation, had dived into the swimming pool of the Hotel Continental Mare for a refreshing swim when she was struck by a sudden illness, which proved fatal.

Another hotel guest, noticing the situation, promptly pulled the woman out of the water. Despite the timely intervention of the 118 paramedics, every attempt to revive her it turned out to be useless.
The Carabinieri of the Ischia Company also intervened at the scene of the tragedy and reported the incident to the deputy prosecutor on duty.
The latter, having found no doubts about the causes of death, ordered the release of the body and its return to the family.
