A flight that was supposed to be an unforgettable experience turned into a devastating tragedy. An ultralight crashed late yesterday morning, catching fire upon impact, killing instructor pilot Simone Fant, 31, and young Alessandra Freschet, just 15.
The accident occurred in the skies above San Mauro di Premariacco, where Alessandra, a lively girl with a passion for adventure, was taking her first flight. The young woman, originally from the area, was on a school trip to the airfield when she had the opportunity to climb aboard an ultralight aircraft , piloted by expert Simone Fant. However, that moment of joy and carefree happiness turned into a nightmare when the aircraft suddenly began to lose altitude.
The causes of the accident are still unclear, but initial reconstructions suggest that the aircraft had a mechanical malfunction. After a sudden loss of control, the ultralight crashed to the ground and, following the impact, caught fire.
