Numerous scooters were targeted, suffering extensive damage and, in some cases, even stolen.
"They tried to take my scooter away, but luckily I had the handlebar lock. They cut the ignition wires, stole the mirrors and the seat. It's the third time in a month that this has happened to me," said one of the owners of the damaged vehicles, who reported the incident to MP Francesco Emilio Borrelli, bitterly.

According to witnesses, the criminals acted undisturbed, taking advantage of the lack of controls. The images from the surveillance cameras could provide useful elements for the investigation.
“This is yet another demonstration of the state of degradation in which our city finds itself,” Borrelli declared. “Crime operates undisturbed and citizens are forced to endure continuous abuses. We ask the Minister of the Interior to intervene immediately to strengthen the police force and guarantee the safety of citizens.”
