Last night, a violent collision between a car and a motorcycle along Via Poseidonia, in the Laura area, killed a 19-year-old resident, Vincenzo Mucciolo.
L'accident, which occurred for reasons yet to be ascertained, occurred near the intersection leading to the Schumann Hotel.
The driver of the car involved was a 33-year-old from Nocera Inferiore, who was unharmed and immediately stopped to provide assistance.
A 118 emergency crew responded to the scene of the accident and rushed the young man to the Ruggi Hospital in Salerno. Unfortunately, Vincenzo died from the serious injuries he sustained in the crash.
The impact was so violent that it threw him from the motorcycle seat, hurling him onto the asphalt meters away. The magistrate on duty at the Salerno Public Prosecutor's Office was informed, and the body was placed at the disposal of the judicial authorities in the hospital morgue for an external examination by the medical examiner.

The accident investigation was carried out by the Carabinieri of the Santa Maria di Castellabate Station, under the direction of Marshal Marco Cesa, with the coordination of the Agropoli Company, led by Captain Giuseppe Colella.
The driver of the car underwent a full medical examination to determine whether he was fit to drive at the time of the crash. The results are pending. After the Carabinieri's reconstruction of the incident, the magistrate will decide whether to register him as a suspect for road homicide.
