The State Police arrested a 38-year-old man, originally from Santa Maria Capua Vetere, accused of having stabbed, last July in Piazza Adriano near the Amphitheatre of Santa Maria, a peer belonging to his same group of friends.
In fact, the attacker had been demanding and obtaining a weekly sum of money from the group for months. The investigation, conducted by the Flying Squad of the Police Headquarters of Caserta and coordinated by the Public Prosecutor's Office Santa Maria Capua Vetere, revealed that the 38-year-old threatened his peer with violence if he did not comply with his demands for money. The victim handed over the money, but when she refused or was late, she suffered physical violence such as punches and kicks, resulting in bruises and contusions. Furthermore, on several occasions, she was forced to give up other goods, such as bicycles, which the 38-year-old resold for a profit.
THEstabbing which occurred in July marked the epilogue of these continuous intimidations, resulting from the victim's refusal to continue with the payments. The wound, caused by a pocketknife and close to the femoral artery, required medical intervention and a prognosis of several days.
