On the occasion of the seventieth anniversary of his death, tomorrow evening, at 18.30:XNUMX p.m., at the Karol theater in Castellammare di Stabia, Antonio Polito, from Castellammare and author of “Il costruttore. Le cinque lezioni di De Gasperi ai politici di oggi” (The Builder. De Gasperi's Five Lessons for Today's Politicians) Mondadori, will offer an unpublished and current portrait of the first and only “strong prime minister” of the Republic. Journalists Pierluigi Fiorenza and Maria Pio Nocerino will converse with the author.
Through five lessons of extraordinary relevance – ranging from De Gasperi's conception of democracy as an "anti-dictatorship", which led him to be first anti-fascist and then anti-communist, to foreign policy, to the management of public spending, to intervention in the South –, Antonio Polito offers a model to those who today lead or are candidates to lead Italy, to the politicians of our times.
Antonio Polito, journalist and writer, is a columnist for the «Corriere della Sera» for which he writes about Italian and European politics. He collaborates with the in-depth program Porta a Porta and is among the most famous television commentators.
