Autumn Music returns to the Royal Palace of Caserta with the usual series of concerts by the Caserta Chamber Orchestra. Conducted by Antonino Cascio and featuring international soloists, the series promises an unforgettable musical experience.
A Program of Excellence
The 2024 edition program includes four concerts. The debut is scheduled for Saturday, October 19 with cellist Yibai Chen, runner-up at the Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels in 2022. Other notable performances will follow, such as that of flautist Elizaveta Ivanova, winner of the Geneva International Music Competition 2023, scheduled for Saturday, November 16. Violinist Giovanni Angeleri, already winner of the Paganini Prize, will play on November 30. The festival will culminate on December 26 with the traditional “Concert for a Festive Day,” featuring a surprise program designed for Christmas at the Reggia.
Classical and Romantic: A Musical Journey
The theme of the concert cycle, “Classical > Romantic,” focuses on symphonies and concertos by illustrious composers such as Mendelssohn, Haydn, Elgar, Mozart, and Schubert. These works represent the musical transition from Classicism to Romanticism. The first concert will take place at the Cappella Palatina of the Reggia Vanvitelliana in Caserta and will feature Mendelssohn’s Symphony No. 10 and two masterpieces by Haydn, including Symphony No. 92 “Oxford” and the cello concerto performed by Yibai Chen.
Entrance and Previews
Access to the concerts is included in the cost of the ordinary ticket or in the subscription to the Reggia di Caserta website. In addition, the concerts will be previewed in Aversa with free admission and followed by matinees at the Museo Campano in Capua. This distribution offers a unique opportunity for the public to experience musical excellence in different settings.
