The thirtieth edition of the Autunno Musicale di Caserta kicks off at the Museo Campano in Capua. The review of classical and contemporary cultured music, organized by the Anna Jervolino Association and the Caserta Chamber Orchestra, will be held from October 5 to December 26, 2024. The different sections of the event include Pianofestival, Chamber Music, New Languages and A – Solo at the Museo Campano in Capua and the Benedictine Basilica of S. Angelo in Formis; Classical > Romantic at the Palatine Chapel of the Royal Palace of Caserta, with repeats in Aversa.
The review
The program features renowned classical artists and emerging international talents. Among the notable names are Boris Petrushansky, Laura Marzadori (first violin soloist at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan) in a duo with Olaf John Laneri, Roberto Fabbriciani, Paolo Carlini, Erzhan Kulibaev, the Goldberg Quartet, pianist Dominic Chamot, and the Pantoum Trio. The Aulos-Vox and Menardi-Noguera duos will headline the New Languages Series with theatrical concerts dedicated to themes such as Dante and the ecosystem.
Collaborations and notable artists
For the Classical > Romantic Cycle, the Caserta Chamber Orchestra, under the direction of Antonino Cascio, will see the collaboration of prominent artists such as Giovanni Angeleri, winner of the Paganini Prize, cellist Yibai Chen, and flautist Elizaveta Ivanova, a "rising star" and winner of international competitions.
The first two appointments
The inaugural event will feature pianist Dominic Chamot, winner of the 2023 Viotti Prize, performing music by Rachmaninov, Ravel, Busoni, and Liszt on October 5th at the Museo Campano in Capua. The following day, October 6th, again at the Museo Campano in Capua, the duo Paolo Carlini (bassoon) and Fabrizio Datteri (piano) will perform pieces by Reicha, Elgar, Schreck, Schumann, and Saint-Saens.
The protagonists
Dominic Chamot won the First Prize and the Audience Award at the Viotti Competition in Vercelli in 2023. He studied at the Hochschule in Cologne and Basel and has performed on four continents. He has released a duo CD with Sergio Pires and has received several prestigious awards and scholarships. Paolo Carlini, former first solo bassoonist of the Orchestra della Toscana, has collaborated with various prestigious Italian orchestras and festivals. He has played under the direction of famous maestros such as Claudio Abbado and Riccardo Muti and holds masterclasses in various countries. Fabrizio Datteri, pianist and harpsichordist, trained at the Boccherini Conservatory in Lucca and perfected his training at the Mozarteum and the Accademia Chigiana in Siena. He teaches at the Conservatory of La Spezia and has recorded for Da Vinci Publishing and Brilliant Classic.
Tickets and information
For concerts at the Museo Campano in Capua, the full ticket costs 8,00 euros, while the reduced tickets for affiliated institutions and music teachers cost 6,00 euros and for young people under twenty-five years old 4,00 euros. Discounted subscriptions are also available. More information is available on the official website of the event. The concerts at the Cappella Palatina of the Royal Palace of Caserta are included in the entrance ticket to the site, while those in the Churches of Aversa and in the Benedictine Basilica of S. Angelo in Formis have free admission.
