Green-Left Alliance MP Francesco Emilio Borrelli has stated that he hasn't ruled out a possible run for mayor of Naples. Speaking on "MattinaLive," Canale8's morning show hosted by Diletta Acanfora, Borrelli explained that he had previously been approached about running, but that such a choice requires a strong team and the support of the citizens.
"Running for mayor is not an individual decision. You need to have people ready to side with you and renew a good part of the administration," the MP stressed. “I cannot rule out approval for a possible candidacy, because it would be a real 'call' from the city.”
Borrelli then reiterated his commitment to doing politics without compromises or clientelistic votes. "In these years we have seen councilors who, by changing the majority, have bent the city to small personal interests, transforming everything into real blackmail. In addition to this, there is a problem rooted in the administrative and managerial machine, which continues to work badly, damaging Naples. And this is why I will continue to fight every day," he concluded Borrelli.
