Casoria. “Come on, Emanuele: we look forward to seeing you soon on the pitch and at the stadium with us”. This is the message from US Salernitana 1919 addressed to the young man stabbed on Saturday evening in a shopping centre in Casoria.
Emanuele, a member of the youth sector of the Campania club, was seriously injured while he was with some friends at the Uci Cinema in Casoria, receiving a stab wound that perforated his liver. He is currently hospitalized at the Mare di Napoli, but fortunately his life is not in danger.
The club, led by the owner Danilo Iervolino, the managers, technicians and players of the first team, together with the staff, coaches and teammates of the youth sector, expresses the hope of seeing him back on the field soon. The head of the youth sector, Stefano Colantuono, will visit the boy to bring the club's support.
Colantuono said: “The example of good kids, dedicated to sports and healthy family values, must not be trampled by subcultures like those of baby gangs”. He added that Salernitana will be by Emanuele's side and his family, hoping for a quick return to normal life and that baby gang violence will be fought with targeted actions.
“Football,” concluded the manager, “can do a lot to condemn acts of violence and petty crime, and our club is on the front lines of this battle.”
