After hours of disruption, train traffic on the line returns to normal Circumvesuviana.Autonomous Body of Volturno (EAV), which manages the regional railway service, has communicated through an official note that the technical fault that had interrupted circulation has finally been resolved. The service on the line Naples-Sorrento has been completely restored starting from 8:45, once again guaranteeing connections along the entire route.
The temporary suspension, caused by an unspecified technical failure, caused significant disruption to commuters and travelers heading to the tourist destinations of the Sorrento coast and the Vesuvius area. In particular, in the early morning hours, many trains were canceled or suffered significant delays, causing discontent among passengers who were forced to change their travel plans.
Despite the restoration of service, EAV has advised that they are still registering delays on the journeys in progress, with waiting times higher than average. The situation should return to full normality in the next few hours, but travellers are advised to check travel times and conditions through official channels before setting off.
The Circumvesuviana is one of the main railway arteries of the Campania region, used daily by thousands of commuters and tourists to connect Napoli with the cities located along the coast and the slopes of Vesuvius, including Herculaneum, Pompeii and Sorrento.
