Several mayors of Sannio, led by the mayor of Benevento Clemente Mastella, signed a document at Palazzo Mosti, requesting the establishment of the "Metropolitan City of Sannio"
. The text reads: “The response to the numerous challenges posed by increasingly complex territorial governance must be collective and shared.
Mayors are called to an active role, with the aim of developing new institutional solutions to improve the capacity to address and solve problems. Hence the need to create the 'Metropolitan City of Sannio'. "
During the meeting, it was also underlined that the ambitious project foresees a structured collaboration, creating a territorial network based on the principle of geographical proximity with Benevento, but with the possibility of expanding the territory involved both in demographic and territorial terms.
