The original jewel is made famous by an exceptional central stone: a 41,5-carat diamond, described by the French jeweler Claude Imbert, author of the design, as “Perfect Violet Color”, later lost.

The exhibition was organized after an evaluation by the Scientific Committee of the Museum of the Ministry of Culture, within the framework of the Call for Participatory Enhancement of the Royal Palace of Caserta.

The exhibition, entitled “The Crown of King Charles of Bourbon”, includes a digital educational path that illustrates the history and vicissitudes of this precious royal symbol and the complex phases of its reconstruction.

The restoration was possible thanks to the original drawings, now preserved in the State Archives of Naples, and to various pictorial representations of the period present in the major European museums.

The exhibition project, curated by the Tarì Gold Centre, guides visitors through the historical events and the reconstruction process, made possible by meticulous work of investigative gemological analysis, design and craftsmanship.

“With this exhibition we complete an ambitious project, in which we have combined respect for the history and culture of our territory with the most prestigious goldsmith art, represented daily by Tarì and its 400 companies”, explains Vincenzo Giannotti, president of the Gold Center.

"The project was born from the research and reconstruction of the crown, promoted by Professor Ciro Paolillo, an expert in investigative gemology, and his team of gemologists, designers and jewelers. After an initial exhibition at the Tarì, the crown now finds its rightful place at the Royal Palace of Caserta, thanks also to the support of the director Tiziana Maffei, who believed in the value of this project from the beginning".

The exhibition is accessible during the same opening hours and days as the Royal Apartments of the Royal Palace of Caserta and is included in the ordinary ticket or subscription to the Museum. It will not be open to visitors during free admission days.
