Starting October 15th, the Herculaneum Archaeological Park will adopt its winter opening hours, with gates open from 8.30:17.00 am to 15.30:XNUMX pm, and last admission at XNUMX:XNUMX pm. This new schedule also includes the opportunity to explore the archaeological site using the revamped Herculaneum digital portal, which allows you to plan your visit in detail and access a wealth of multimedia content to enhance your experience.

Visits to the Ancient Theatre

Until November 9th, visitors have the opportunity to discover the Ancient Theater of the Herculaneum Archaeological Park. This historic site holds a fascinating story: it was the farmer Ambrogio Nucerino, known as Enzechetta, who discovered this ancient treasure in 1738 while digging a well. Buried by the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 AD, the Ancient Theater was the first monument of the Vesuvian sites to be unearthed.

The Grand Tour Experience

The Ancient Theatre, located in the city of Resina, has been an extraordinary attraction for centuries.

Through Bourbon tunnels and over 20 meters underground, visitors can imagine where spectators of the time sat in the cavea, depending on their social standing, where actors performed, and where guests of honor sat. This time machine captured the attention of cultured travelers on the Grand Tour of the 18th and 19th centuries, and also served as a refuge during World War II.

Visit Scheduling

Visits to the Ancient Theatre are organized twice a week, on Wednesdays and Saturdays, with groups of 10 people and six appointments scheduled between 9.30:16.30 and XNUMX:XNUMX. Guided tours in English are also planned. Tickets can be purchased online through the dedicated website or directly at the Park ticket office.

Special Offers for Visitors

The park offers a combined ticket, which provides convenient access to both the park and the theater, and various types of annual passes. These allow unlimited access for 365 days at a reduced price and are available for families, young people, and individual visitors. The pass, which is personal and nominative, guarantees unlimited entry from the date of first use. For further information and pricing details, please visit the official website of the Herculaneum Archaeological Park.
