Naples. A Polish license plate ring was discovered, operated by the owner of a vehicle registration agency, who was reported for fraud and receiving stolen goods. In recent days, the Naples Guardia di Finanza (Financial Police) has intensified checks on the use of foreign license plates, given that this phenomenon is widespread in the province.
In particular, the financial police of the Frattamaggiore Group, thanks to preliminary investigations, intercepted a package coming from Poland at a shipping center in Casoria.
Inside the package were 21 Polish license plates, 14 vehicle registration certificates, and 6 sales contracts, addressed to a person in Naples who runs a car registration agency.

He had license plates and documents delivered to a shipping center in Casoria
Investigations revealed that this agency, using a Polish company that has been closed since 2020, was smuggling foreign license plates into Italy. These vehicles were first deregistered from the Italian register (PRA) and then, without ever leaving Italy, were registered in Poland.
This maneuver was used to avoid paying car taxes, to obtain a discount on insurance (which is very high in Naples) and to avoid fines for violations of the highway code.
At the end of the operation, the plates and the documents were seized and the person responsible was reported for fraud and receiving stolen goods at the Court of Naples North.
