The 12th edition of European Biotech Week (EBW) has begun again this year, the scientific-cultural training program organized and promoted by the University of Naples "Parthenope" together with Propeller Club Port of Naples, Assobiotec/Federchimica, Cnr-Ipcb, Fondazione Dohrn and Fondazione Marevivo ETS.
The event, held in the Aula Magna of the Campania university in collaboration with the Naples Shipping Week (NSW), was designed to bring young people closer and involve them through science, research and innovation, in the defense of the sea and more generally of the environment and life, examining current issues such as, for example, the effects of climate change.
So let's take center stage for the "new generation," the absolute stars of the 2024 edition of the Neapolitan event. Among them, the students from the 4th year of the "Salesiani Sacro Cuore Vomero" high school couldn't be missed. They gathered in force at the university campus on Via Acton to "accompany" a... special guest: their classmate Ernesto De Amicis, a fifteen-year-old prodigy from the Circolo Savoia , one of the emerging talents in the world of WingFoil, fresh from the title of European Under-19 champion in that discipline and the prestigious "Premio Masaniello," awarded to him last September 29th at the Sannazzaro Theater in Naples for having brought prestige to the city of Naples, raising it to the top of the European continent.
Accustomed to performing breathtaking acrobatics on the edge of the wave, De Amicis was invited to go on stage at the European Biotech Week to illustrate his spectacular sport to those present, as well as to tell how beautiful Naples is “seen from the sea” and why it is so important that all Neapolitans take care of it.
