A journey between metal and cinema
Originally from Bolzano, Francesco Montanile made his name as the lead guitarist of the metal band Skarn. After completing his studies in jazz guitar at the Istituto Musicale Vivaldi in Bolzano in 2018, Montanile began his journey into the world of film scores. His first album, “Tunnel of Dreams”, released in 2021, consisted of 10 dreamlike and psychedelic tracks. With the first volume of “Cinematic Songs” released in 2022, the musician began to experiment with new sounds by integrating violins and electronic synths with the sounds of his guitar.
Collaborations and future projects
Over the past two years, Montanile has worked on a number of film projects, scoring films such as Giorgio Molteni’s “Le Vanitose” and “Il silenzio prima del giorno,” and Roger Fratter’s “Narciso d’autunno,” which won Best Short Film at the NEZ International Film Festival in Calcutta. Paolo Del Fiol’s “A Meltykiss lost in the abyss” is also ready for distribution in the United States. Montanile is currently involved in the creation of new soundtracks, collaborating with the well-known Stadio keyboardist Fabio Liberatori for the film “Succede in una notte,” directed by Emiliano Canova.
