Francesco Muto, an 84-year-old 'Ndrangheta boss originally from Cetraro, in the province of Cosenza, has been returned to prison. Known as "the fish king" for his control of the fish trade, Muto had been placed under house arrest for health reasons, granted by the Sassari Surveillance Court about a year ago, while he was held in Tempio Pausania prison.
The Catanzaro Surveillance Court, presided over by Francesca Marrazzo, decided to revoke this benefit, deeming Muto's health conditions compatible with prison regime, on the advice of the Attorney General's Office.
