Caserta, Mayor Marino on the arrests: "The incident dates back to 2020"

The Mayor of Caserta, Carlo Marino, commented on the judicial events that emerged today and which concern arrests for corruption both in the Caserta municipality and in the nearby one of San Nicola la Strada.

“We are dealing with a situation we have known about since 2020: at that time, there had already been some judicial activity regarding the facts being discussed.

We already implemented the Anti-Corruption Plan back then, rotating managers and changing their responsibilities.

In fact, from that moment on, the manager Biondi was exonerated from those responsibilities. He concluded: "We have faith in the judiciary, but we naturally hope that those directly involved in this matter will be able to clarify their positions in the appropriate forums. We are in the initial phase of the legal process: I remind everyone that in Italy, the presumption of innocence exists until a final conviction has been handed down."
