New Casalesi arrested: Carmine Zagaria, brother of the boss Michele, investigated

Casapesenna. New Casalesi arrested: with the boss Antonio Mezzero, his brother Giuseppe, his nephews Alessandro and Michele Mezzero, and 51-year-old Pietro Ligato, a member of the criminal family of the same name that has always controlled the territory of the municipality of Pignataro Maggiore on behalf of the Casalesi, ended up in prison.

Pietro is the son of the clan leader Raffaele Ligato, who died in 2022 at the age of 74 in the Milan-Opera prison, where he was detained under the 41bis regime also for the murder of the trade unionist Franco Imposimato, brother of the judge Ferdinando Imposimato, who had investigated the Camorra and terrorism.

The role of Carmine Zagaria

Ligato Jr. himself, it emerges from the investigations, was involved in a 40 thousand euro extortion ordered by Carmine Zagaria, Michele's brother, which concerned the sale of a warehouse in Sant'Andrea del Pizzone, an area that Ligato was responsible for.

For this reason the son of the deceased clan leader allegedly had the buyer hand over 20 thousand euros. Carmine Zagaria the investigating judge Nicoletta Campanaro rejected the request for arrest.
