A judicial storm is hitting Stefano Farina, former mayor of Teora, in the province of Avellino, after the request of the Attorney General of the Court of Auditors of Campania to summon him directly to court. The accusation is serious: the accounting attorney accuses Farina of having unduly received allowances for his public functions, accumulating a sum that is close to 80.000 euros, thus damaging the Altirpino municipality and the Consortium of social services that brings together 25 municipalities in the area.
According to the investigation, the former mayor, who currently works for Poste Italiane , also took paid leave of absence that was not justified by institutional commitments related to his mandates. The Prosecutor's Office argued that this behavior resulted in significant financial damage to the two public bodies involved.
Stefano Farina, however, firmly denies the accusations. In a statement, he reiterated his "extreme correctness in his conduct and procedures ," maintaining that the issue stems from old feuds with a local political opponent. "I don't intend to argue ," he stated, "but I want to go to the end to demonstrate in the trial that I am completely innocent of the charges leveled against me."
