On Saturday 19 October, the Salesian Institute “Sacro Cuore” in Vomero will open its doors for a special event: the inauguration of the gym named after Alessandro Sacco, the well-known Neapolitan sports journalist who died prematurely in June 2023 at the age of 44. The ceremony will take place starting at 10 am at the Via Scarlatti complex, in conjunction with the school's Open Day.

The event will be enriched by the presence of two outstanding Paralympic athletes: Angela Procida, bronze medalist in the women's 100m backstroke S2 at the recent World Swimming Championships, and Emanuele Marigliano, Italian record holder in the 150m medley. Both athletes will share their experience and inspire students and visitors with their extraordinary stories of resilience and success.

During the Open Day, students and teachers will be ready to welcome visitors with a series of workshops and activities, including foreign languages, science, physics and music, thus offering a preview of the educational opportunities available at the institute. The day promises to be not only a tribute to the journalist Sacco, but also an important opportunity for openness and inclusion for the school community and for all those who wish to learn more about the reality of the Institute Salesians.
