The final desperation of Juve Stabia goalkeeper Thiam at the end of the match lost at the Romeo Menti against Cremonese is an exact snapshot of the match.
A kind concession from the Senegalese goalkeeper on a close and not irresistible touch from Vazquez in the 38th minute of the second half gave the 2-1 to the grey-reds of new coach Eugenio Corini.
It remains to be said, however, that today's Juve Stabia was not the same as the last two games and that perhaps they settled for a draw too soon. The Lombard team, certainly equipped to be in the upper reaches of the Serie B standings, did not show all that much difference today.
The visitors' goals both came from set pieces and should make us reflect on the lack of concentration of the Stabia defenders in their own penalty area. A positive note was the goal by Adorante, albeit from a penalty, which serves to increase the goal tally of the Stabia bomber.
The guests had taken the lead at the first opportunity with a great right-footed volley from Antov following a lateral free kick from Vandeputte. The reaction of the hosts Juve Stabia was not long in coming with the equaliser arriving in the 21st minute from the penalty spot with Adorante who wrong-footed Fulignati (foul by Antov on Fortini).
In the second half Juve Stabia is satisfied and Cremonse raises the pace but without worrying the home defense too much. Then on a corner kick Vazquez arrives and passes between the legs of an inattentive Thiam.
Juve Stabia's reaction, despite the changes to the entire offensive package, was not there. And now heads down and pedal. The carousel of Serie B is this: you go up and down in the space of two weeks.
And Juve Stabia fans know this well. The goal remains a safe salvation and we are forced to suffer from next Saturday in Cosenza we need to get points.
