Karting in Sarno – Excitement and competition at the highest levels on the Naples International Circuit, where over 400 drivers from over 60 nations competed for the world titles of the Rotax classes, the absolute pinnacle of international karting. The final victory by nation went to Team UK, which dominated especially in the Junior class and also secured valuable points with the victory in the Micro category, managing to monopolize the podium.
In a weekend of intense racing, it was Britain’s Joshua Cooke who shone in the Micro Rotax class, while Czech Zdenek Babicek took the Mini. In Junior, the podium was all British, with Jacob Ashcroft taking the champion title. In the Senior category, Belgian Vic Stevens prevailed, while in the gearbox classes, Slovenian Xen De Ruwe won DD2 and Frenchman Nicolas Picot won DD2 Master.
In addition to traditional karts, the event marked an important stage in the ecological transition, introducing categories entirely dedicated to electric karts, a unique proposal in the world of competitive karting. In the E20 Senior, the Hungarian Armand Hamilton triumphed, while in the Master E20 the Dutchman Maurits Knopjes climbed to the top step of the podium.
During the awards ceremony, the organizers thanked the Circuito Internazionale Napoli for the impeccable welcome. The Sorrentino family, the beating heart of the organization, was invited on stage to receive the applause of an enthusiastic audience.
With this event, which celebrated speed, talent and sustainability, the Sarno karting season is coming to a close: the next appointment is set for December 8th with the twenty-ninth edition of the famous A. Senna Trophy, which promises to provide one last dose of adrenaline for 2023.
