Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, one of the emerging talents of international football, opens up in a long interview with the FIFA website, talking about his dreams with the Georgian national team and his experience at Napoli. “In the last few months we have shown that Georgia can give a lot. We will do everything to make our dream of playing in the World Cup come true. We believe in qualifying, and that is what matters. We have the skills and character to make this dream come true”, said Kvaratskhelia, confident in his team's potential.
The Georgian talent, loved both in his homeland and by Napoli fans, expressed a strong sense of belonging to his land. “I want to be useful to my country”, he explained, emphasizing how proud he is of his roots. “I thank God that I was born in Georgia and that I am a son of this historic country. I will always do my best to make my people proud, no matter what happens in the future.”
Kvaratskhelia then spoke about his experience in Naples and the importance of working under Antonio Conte, the coach who strongly wanted his permanence at the club. “I am happy to have the opportunity to work with Antonio Conte. Many have told me that he is a great coach, and now I can experience it first hand. He is one of the best in the world, and with him I am trying to improve both physically and tactically. I believe that with his help I will be able to achieve the results I want, both with Napoli and internationally.”
There was no shortage of a confrontation between Napoli fans and Georgia fans, with kvaratskhelia which highlighted a fundamental point in common: the love for football. “The main thing they have in common is their passion for this sport. It’s special for both of them, and that helped me feel immediately at ease in Naples. I’m happy to be supported by both my club and my national team.”
