During an event organized by Fratelli d'Italia in Padua, Senate President Ignazio La Russa treated the audience to a moment of reminiscence about his passion for football. Speaking on stage, the well-known Inter fan recalled an episode related to Inter's achievement of their second star, with a curious anecdote.
"When I was young, Inter's second star was on the right, and 'Nerolandia' was Padua's tricolor celebration. I have a wonderful memory. I came with my German shepherd, and Gianfranco Fini also attended with his dog. It really seemed like a dog's party..." La Russa jokingly recounted, eliciting laughter from the crowd.
The interview then touched on more current topics, with a reference to the current Serie A season. When asked who he sees as the top contender for the Scudetto, La Russa responded with a prediction that reflects his footballing faith: "Should we resign ourselves to Napoli being champions this year? No, we won't. But, with all due respect to Juventus and other teams, if Inter don't win the Scudetto again—who, however, would have to win the Champions League in return , otherwise I wouldn't be happy—Napoli's victory would be a just reward for a city that has given so much, but hasn't always received enough."
