Preparations are underway in Piazza del Plebiscito, the beating heart of the fourth edition of the Italiana Assicurazioni Neapolis Marathon , the international race over the classic 42,195 km, which will take place on Sunday, October 13th. This highly anticipated event is one for which the city of Naples is preparing meticulously, clearing the streets of cars from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. to ensure the smooth running of the competition and the safety of participants.
The event is more than just a sporting competition, it's also a true celebration of the city. Starting tomorrow afternoon, the Expo Marathon will open, a village dedicated to athletes, tourists, and the curious, featuring over thirty stands from sponsors and organizations involved in the world of running and sports in general. Among these , Eso Recycling stands out , with its Esosport project , which promotes the recycling of end-of-life sports equipment.
The Esosport initiative, launched in 2009, focuses on the collection and recycling of running shoes, bicycle tires and inner tubes, as well as tennis and padel balls. "Passion for sport, expertise in the waste management sector, and environmental protection are the cornerstones of the Esosport project ," explain the promoters. The project aims to transform sports waste into new resources, minimizing environmental impact through the regeneration process at the Eso Recycling 'Amato Cannara' plant in Tolentino, Marche, which specializes in the treatment of sports waste.
Recycling allows us to obtain materials that can be used to create sports flooring, tiles and other sports-related products, thus contributing to environmental sustainability. During the Expo Marathon, participants will be able to bring their end-of-life sports materials, such as shoes or tennis balls, so that they can be included in the recycling cycle promoted by Esosport.
