On the centenary of Alberto Manzi's birth, Naples is preparing to pay homage to the famous "Maestro d'Italia" through a series of cultural and artistic events celebrating his legacy. The fourth day of the "Il mondo salvato dai ragazzini" festival, an initiative curated by the Kolibrì cultural association, will feature students and teachers from Neapolitan schools at the Teatro Nuovo, as well as an exhibition dedicated to the illustrious educator and science communicator at the State Archives.
Performance and musical show in honor of the Maestro
On Thursday 24th, at the Teatro Nuovo, the city's schools will perform morning performances inspired by the books that won the Il mondo salvato dai ragazzini award, created with the support of the Agita Association. Alongside the students, Manzi's son, Massimo, will be among the guests of honor. The event will also include an open dress rehearsal of the musical show "Orzowei", curated by the Garilli Sound Project, with the extraordinary participation of students from Academies, Conservatories and high schools with a focus on music.
Inauguration of the exhibition “Alberto Manzi in 13 drawings”
At 17.30:13 pm, again in honor of the Maestro, the State Archives of Naples will host the inauguration of the exhibition “Alberto Manzi in XNUMX drawings”. The illustrations, created by the well-known artist Alessandro Sanna, offer a poetic representation of Manzi's contribution to education and culture. Also present at the vernissage was Massimo Manzi, who defines his father as “a master of doing”, as explained in an interview: “He was a writer, a narrator, a man of dialogue who saw teaching as a narrative act”. A lesson that remains current and fundamental for the new generations.
