Napoli Lecce Conte – Antonio Conte addressed the key issues ahead of Saturday's match against Lecce, scheduled for the Maradona Stadium, during his presentation press conference. The Napoli coach immediately made his views on rotation clear: "I don't like talking about rotation. They're all starters. I make my choices based on what I see. If there are any problems, I'll change them, but I'll try to field the best team to face Lecce."
Conte emphasized the importance of continuing the momentum of positive results, while acknowledging that decisions will inevitably be made based on the players' condition: "We have a match to play against Lecce, and we need to try to continue getting results. I still have a day to decide, but the decisions will be made based on what I see."
Napoli Lecce, Conte: "I don't look at Inter and Juve, we need points"
Regarding the tactical approach, Conte expressed his dissatisfaction with the performance against Empoli, especially in the first half: "The approach I expect? I hope it's different from the one against Empoli. It wasn't something I or the players wanted, but we have to do better. Opponents are always part of the game, but we want to improve and not repeat the mistake."
When asked about the upcoming big match between Inter and Juventus, the Italian coach preferred to focus exclusively on his own team: "I don't look at our opponents' games. We need points because we might have some problems going forward. There will be difficulties on Saturday, but we'll have to be good at overcoming them."
Conte, a native of Lecce, also spoke about his connection to the Salento team, but wanted to clearly separate his feelings from his profession: "Lecce represents my roots, the dusty pitches, my father's team. I came through the youth ranks and then made it to Serie A with Juventus. But now it's time for the match. Lecce will be an opponent we'll try to beat."
