As the All Saints' Day holiday approaches, Naples is preparing to welcome a large influx of tourists. But is the city truly ready to handle this challenge? While the beauty of Naples continues to be an irresistible attraction, tourism professionals once again highlight the chronic challenges related to transportation, safety, and urban decor.

Massimo Di Porzio, regional president of Fipe Campania, expresses concerns about this. "Transportation remains a serious problem. Despite efforts, Metro Line 6 was reopened and then closed again, leaving service incomplete.

During holidays, disruptions caused by union strikes further worsen the situation, making mobility difficult for everyone, including tourists."

On the issue of safety, Di Porzio acknowledges some improvements, but highlights a critical issue. "The perception of safety has undoubtedly improved compared to the past, but the real problem arises at night.

After a certain hour, the police presence decreases significantly, creating vulnerable situations for tourists in the busiest central areas." Another area of concern is illegal activity.

"Every year we find ourselves reporting the presence of illegal street vendors, especially in the Piazza Garibaldi and Porta Nolana areas, with nougat stalls. This not only compromises the city's decorum, but also negatively impacts the experience of tourists, who expect a more refined environment."

Costanzo Jannotti Pecci, president of the Naples Industrialists' Union and owner of two prestigious hotels in the city, intervened in the debate, but with a note of optimism.

"Naples is safer than many other Italian cities, as demonstrated by the national rankings," he observes. "The real unknown factor, however, remains the weather. If the weather is favorable, I believe the city will be able to navigate this All Saints' Day long weekend in the best possible way."

Jannotti Pecci, however, does not fail to highlight another crucial problem: "Tourist tax evasion is a phenomenon that Naples must address decisively. If we could reduce tax evasion, especially in the alternative hospitality sector, the city could collect at least 50% more than it currently does."
