Illegal garage and illegal dump in cervinara: owner unknown to the tax authorities, seized by the Guardia di Finanza
The Guardia di Finanza of Avellino discovered a mechanical workshop without authorizations, with hazardous waste and non-accounting documentation, as part of an operation aimed at combating illegal activity and tax evasion
As part of the daily and constant activity of general prevention and control of the territory coordinated by the Provincial Command of the Guardia di Finanza of Avellino, in the Municipality of Cervinara a mechanical garage with a front area of approximately 300 square meters was seized. In particular, the yellow flames of the mobile nucleus of the Avellino Group, during an inspection, gained access to a warehouse where inside there was a mechanical repair shop, ascertaining that the owner was operating without the required authorizations.
Upon entering the warehouse, the military found several vehicles being repaired, a motorcycle and specific equipment including a lifting bridge. They also discovered special and environmentally hazardous waste generated by the manufacturing processes, used filters and oil, solvents abandoned on the ground, spare parts for vehicles, batteries, stored in an uncontrolled manner and without differentiation. The owner had used the entire area in front of the warehouse as a real open-air illegal landfill where, among other things, tires and parts of disused bodywork were stored.
During the activity, extra-accounting documentation was found and seized, useful for proving the illegal activity carried out, which will allow to reconstruct the proceeds deriving from the activity carried out by the owner, who was found to be completely unknown to the Tax Office. The warehouse and the entire area used as an illegal landfill were seized and the owner was reported to the Avellino AG for the violations referred to in art. 256, paragraphs 1 and 5 of Legislative Decree 152/2006 of the Consolidated Environmental Act, as well as administratively sanctioned for the additional violations found.
The operation carried out by the military of the Avellino Group is part of a broader and more complex plan aimed at strengthening the action to combat serious and particularly insidious illicit conduct, in order to increase deterrence in the fight against tax evasion and commercial abuse, for the protection and safeguard of honest entrepreneurs.
