Illegal workshop in Pompeii – As part of an operation aimed at environmental protection, the military of the Carabinieri Forestale Nucleus of Castellammare di Stabia, on the orders of the Carabinieri Forestale Group of Naples, carried out an inspection in a warehouse of approximately 75 square meters located in the rural area of the municipality of Pompeii. The structure had been transformed into a real workshop and warehouse, but operated without any administrative and environmental authorization.
During the inspections, numerous irregularities emerged, with a significant presence of waste from mechanical processing, a clear sign of the lack of proper management of waste materials. In addition to the lack of permits, the facility also violated environmental disposal regulations.
The Carabinieri then proceeded to seize the entire area, the business and the warehouse for illegal waste management, reporting a man, a 40 year old Pompei, for the violations found. The operation is part of a broad control strategy aimed at preventing and repressing environmental crimes that compromise the safety and health of the territory.
