Exploring Chaos and Identity Through the Art of Laser
Laser, the stage name of Vincenzo De Rosa, takes the audience on a deep journey into the human soul, exploring the complex interaction between chaos and identity. His works, rich in shapes, colors and symbolism, will be exhibited in a solo show that will be held at Giosi – Spazio 104, in the heart of Old Town di Napoli, from 12 to 30 October 2024. The inauguration of theevent's audience coincides with the Day of the Contemporary, promoted by Amaci, an association that brings together Italian contemporary art museums.
A Meeting of Styles and Themes
In Laser's works, bright colors and stylized lines come together to create a dialogue between chaos and order, between figure and abstraction. The artist is inspired by the German expressionists of the twentieth century and derives influences from the visual language of writers, trying to challenge the traditional conventions of painting. His works emerge as powerful and dynamic expressions of the individual's inner universe, characterized by a unique and indefinable style, halfway between visionary and psychedelic.
Art as Narration
For Laser, each work is a narrative of an ever-evolving identity, recreated through a flowing graphic line combined with pictorial matter, all generating a form of controlled chaos. The creation is deeply influenced by personal visions and past memories, giving life to complex and meaningful images. The artist describes his creative process as instinctive, without a defined planning phase, where the desire to narrate translates into visual writing on the canvas.
Exhibition Information
Curated by Fabiana Carelli, the exhibition is free to enter and will be open on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 15:30 pm to 19 pm. Located in via Santa Maria di Costantinopoli, near the National Archaeological Museum and the Academy of Fine Arts, the exhibition offers a rare opportunity to discover the works of an artist who manages to blend chaos and identity in a visual representation as evocative as it is original.
