Over the past weekend, the State Police has strengthened controls in the areas of Piazza Mercato, Piazza Garibaldi, and in the Sanità and Vicaria neighborhoods, also in response to recent news events. In particular, the agents of the General Prevention and Public Aid Office, with the support of the Campania Crime Prevention Department and the Nibbio units, have carried out extensive monitoring of the areas concerned, aimed at countering widespread illegality.
During the activity, approximately one thousand people were identified, of which 292 with police records, and 274 vehicles were checked, of which 21 were subjected to administrative seizure. 42 violations of the Highway Code were also contested.
Yesterday afternoon, as part of the same operation, the officers arrested a minor for illegal possession and dealing of narcotics. In via Nolana, the cops they noticed the young man while, in a suspicious manner, he was giving something to a person in exchange for a banknote, taking it from a box inside a building.
The timely intervention of the agents allowed them to stop the boy, found in possession of 120 euros in banknotes of various denominations, presumed proceeds of the illegal activity. Inside the box, the operators found 8 small bags containing approximately 9 grams of marijuana, a piece and two blocks of hashish for a total weight of approximately 200 grams and a precision scale. For these reasons, the young man was arrested.
