The General Commander, Gen. CA Teo Luzi, this morning presented the Historical Calendar of the Carabinieri 2025 edition. The work was illustrated by the famous television host Marco Liorni, in the splendid setting of the Auditorium Parco della Musica.

“The Carabinieri and the young” is the theme of the new Historical Calendar, created with the contribution of famous figures of the Italian artistic and literary scene, Marco Lodola and Maurizio de Giovanni; the former, who curated the graphic design of the work, is considered a multifaceted artist of the New Futurism and Italian Pop Art, while the latter, a successful Neapolitan writer, is known for the series “Il Commissario Ricciardi”, “I Bastardi di Pizzofalcone”, “Mina Settembre”.

The texts accompanying the 12 tables describe an epistolary dialogue between a widowed Marshal Station Commander and his son, a student struggling with the challenges of everyday life and with the pain, shared with his father, for the death of his mother.

The Marshal uses some stories from his work as a key to dialogue, talking about some episodes of service that touch on themes such as bullying, addictions, environmental protection and respect for others, inclusiveness and social loneliness.

She thus manages to overcome the obstacles and recurring difficulties in the communication relationship between adults and children with a method that is as astute as it is discreet: knowing the boy's habit of leafing through photo albums that also portray his deceased mother, she decides to insert some notes inside, asking him to remove them if they have been read and, therefore, appreciated.

In this way, Maurizio de Giovanni manages to fictionalize the relationship between new generations and legality, with a direct and empathetic language, summarizing paternal love, values and trust in the young generations in a sort of moral testament.

The tables, instead, depict, in the unmistakable pop style of Marco Lodola, carabinieri of the various branches of the force and young figures, in the paper version of the "luminous sculptures" that made him famous throughout the world.

The calendar aims to valorize young people, an invaluable asset for all and a precious investment for the future of the country, recalling one of the main preventive activities carried out by the Carabinieri in their favor, the meetings in schools on the "Culture of legality", which aim to promote knowledge of the law and civic culture.

A unique and privileged opportunity to be treasured to develop in the younger generations the sensitivity towards the most sensitive social issues, legality and environmental issues, and increase the awareness of their precious role for the social, economic and democratic growth of the country.

The table of the month of November, through the representation of a soldier for each Armed Force, is dedicated to "Defense" and its values.

The choice of month coincides with the anniversary of the “Day of National Unity and the Armed Forces”, which we celebrate on November 4, this year sealed by the ceremony in the city of Venice and by the “Defense Village” set up at the Circus Maximus from November 1 to 4, where citizens will be able to discover our Armed Forces.

The great curiosity aroused by the Historical Calendar of the Carabinieri, which has now reached a circulation of 1.200.000 copies and has been translated into eight foreign languages (English, French, Spanish, German, Portuguese, Japanese, Chinese and Arabic) as well as Sardinian and Friulian, is a clear demonstration of the esteem and gratitude that the Institution enjoys from the community.

The high significance of its contents make it an appreciated, sought-after and present object in homes and workplaces as well as in schools and places of social aggregation, almost as a testimony to the fact that "next to every citizen there is a Carabiniere".

The publication of the Calendar, now in its 92nd edition, after the post-war interruption from 1945 to 1949, was regularly resumed in 1950 and since then it has been a punctual interpreter, with its tables, of the events of the Force and, through it, of the History of Italy.

In addition to the Calendar, the 2025 edition of the Agenda has also been published, whose work represents the editorial continuity of the Calendar, reporting de Giovanni's stories as the opening of each single month.

Two more works complete the editorial offer for the year 2025.

The desk calendar, dedicated again this year to the theme “The Carabinieri in the Most Beautiful Villages of Italy” and created with shots of the most suggestive and tradition-rich municipalities of the boot, from North to South, including: Sappada (UD), Civitella del Tronto (TE), Suvereto (LI), Posada (NU), Locorotondo (BA) and Gerace (RC). The entire proceeds from the sale of the desk calendar will be donated, as in previous years, to the National Assistance Organization for the Orphans of the Military of the Carabinieri.

The Table Planning instead focuses on the theme "The international commitment of the Carabinieri. Cooperation activities and operational theaters", with the aim of illustrating the delicate and precious activity that the force carries out outside the national territory, carrying out with professionalism and dedication both the tasks of stability policing and security and surveillance of diplomatic offices, a commitment highly appreciated by the international community.

The proceeds of this editorial product will be donated again to a pediatric hospital, identified this year in the Santobono of Naples.

Today, coinciding with the presentation of the artist's editorial products, the Deodato Arte Gallery, which represents the artist, opens the exhibition "Marco Lodola. Blue Lights" (until November 16, at Via Giulia 122 in Rome).

The artist's unpublished collection displays light sculptures and sketches inspired by the Carabinieri used to create the 2025 edition of the Historical Calendar. The exhibition was conceived to pay homage to the institution, which, with its history spanning over two centuries, has become an iconographic element in the Italian popular imagination.
